Update: June 12, 2022
The Meriwether Society Annual Meeting has been changed to Saturday, June 25th at 11 am Eastern time. (10 am Central; 9 am Mountain; 8 am Pacific; 7 am Alaska)
It will be held as a Zoom Meeting. A limited number of people registered to attend in person, and concerns over the cost of travel caused the change. Please contact Sharon Pike if you would like the log-in information.
Next year we will resume in-person meetings and hold our reunion in Louisville, Kentucky. If you would like to volunteer to help with the Reunion Committee, please contact Sharon Pike.

After 2 years of meeting via Zoom, your TMSI board has decided to tentatively plan for our Annual Membership and Board meeting in June to be in-person. Fairfield Inn at the airport in Richmond, Virginia has been selected as our gathering spot. Kathy Wells is the chairperson for the meeting.

For those of you not familiar, on the “off” (i.e., even-numbered meeting years), we keep it simple and unstructured. The board meets, we have our annual membership meeting, do some research and enjoy a meal or two out with the fellowship of our cousins. If you’ve never been to a reunion with us, think of it as a First Friday Meriwether Happy Hour Zoom Meeting, but in person. The advantage of the “off-year” meetings is that you get quality time to get to know your cousins.
Unlike past years, we have NOT arranged a block of rooms with the hotel. This will allow us to easily change our plans if we get locked down again, but without a contract, we won’t have a block of rooms reserved for our group. Everyone must make their hotel reservations well in advance. If you don’t make your reservations and there are no rooms available, the Society will not have any rooms held in reserve. If you think you may possibly want to attend, please make your reservations as soon as possible. You can cancel later if you decide not to attend.
Since Zoom has been such an effective meeting tool for us, we won’t abandon the platform just yet. We’ll broadcast the Annual Membership meeting online for those who chose to not travel but would still like to be with us.
Looking forward to 2023, it will be a larger shindig in Louisville, Kentucky. The odd-numbered years are fun because we’re busier touring places of Meriwether significance (or just fun places), participating in educational seminars, family group meetings, and of course, the annual Membership meeting. Sharon Pike, our chairperson for 2023, is already busy making plans. Stay tuned to the newsletters and Facebook for more information on both meetings. And don’t forget to keep saving your pennies for a trip to England, as soon as international travel is easy again.
